THE DEBUT OF dEAf PEdESTRIANS
AND DOTPOINTPERIOD

By all appearances, it would seem that the music business has left the building... in a body-bag. As those who still care slowly navigate the rubble looking for something salvageable, there is a glimmer, a distinct silver lining, off in the distance. While whole paradigms morph and are being leveled, it just might be that, perhaps, the playing field is actually leveling.

Enter unknown underfed savior/victims, dEAf PEdESTRIANS. The aesthetic embodiment of having your cake and eating it too, they are that rare band thats smart enough, witty enough, imaginative enough to appeal to the the cynical smartass Alternative/College set and are hard, loud, violent and skilled enough for the You Guys Fuckin ROCK! masses.

Leadsinger Chuck Parkers ability to adopt personas to dramatically convey his twisted cinematic story-line lyrics and the bands no-nonsense super-tight guitar-drenched hooks make dEAf PEdESTRIANS music commercially viable while attaining and maintaining artistic credibility. Neat trick, no?

Spawned in 2001 from the ashes of two other bands, dEAf PEdESTRIANS spent the better part of three years writing and recording and molding a cohesive just-different-enough sound and songwriting style. Its hard to cubbyhole exactly what it is they do as they remain true to the most formal elements of guitar/bass/drums/rhyming couplets of... uh...

ROCK N ROLL!

Under just about everyones radar, dEAf PEdESTRIANS have been infecting listeners on a national level.

They spent most of 2003 as the Most Requested Unsigned Band on AOL/Spinner Internet Radio. And then, after spending 2004 gigging and recording, dEAf PEdESTRIANS were discovered by iTunes. In April of 2005, dEAf PEdESTRIANS debuted on iTunes Home Page as the Free Download/Single of the Week with their first single, "15 Beers Ago". At the beginning of the project, iTunes own download prediction was 100,000. dEAf PEdESTRIANS are currently at 200,000 downloads and counting. Sure, "free" is pretty compelling... but thats either a whole lot of cheapskates or maybe people figured out just how good dEAf PEdS are... and about 20,000 of those DLs are royalty-checks-in-the-bank PAID FOR!

Since mid-May 2005, this here start-up label, Dotpointperiod Records has been working "15 Beers Ago" to the notoriously constricted and ever more cautious world of Commercial Rock Radio. As of this writing, "15 Beers Ago" is on almost 40 play-lists around the country in markets the size of Dallas Texas down to Sheboygan Wisconsin... and being spun on specialty shows on dozens more.

And there are more Radio-friendly songs where "15 Beers Ago" comes from.

With an organic response from almost every audience bordering on crazed, the band will be on the road for the rest of their lives. Maybe even at a club near YOU!

Nationally released on September 6th, 2005 (yes, its in a store near you right now!), the 13 song self-titled album dEAf PEdESTRIANS is the perfect record for those who like to Rock their heads off with their brains engaged.

and Three Fantastic...

Okay. Yes, we're ready. Is this thing on? Okay.
So, you know that record labels and radio stations both have the concept of The Single
... or the FOCUS Track (cool new term, huh?) just buried in their DNA at this point.
It's really not worth rebelling against, right?
You simply have to give Radio and MTV/Fuse ONE SONG...
And hope they pound it to smithereens...
Now, the concept of The Single presents a particularly knotty problem for Three Fantastic.
Well, not for the band, actually more for us, the hardboiled and slightly salted record label.
You will hear soon enough, that every song or no song on Three Fantastic's debut album
on Dotpointperiod could be A Single.
And so, maybe the first time you hear Three Fantastic it will be "20,000 Worlds Away".
Yes, okay, we DID pick a single... (a BIG early fave!).
If this band's music clicks for you the first time through... Dang, you're good.
Us label types had to get rid of some preconceived notions...
Especially when it came to song structure.
One member of the band (okay, it was Kelly) actually came right out with a pout
and demanded to know if we were trying to "turn Three Fantastic into a verse/chorus band?!".
No such luck.
Be forewarned... this band might have something akin to originality.
Originality takes a minute to sink in.
Dig in.

Well, here we are... Several hardcore nutbuckets... Still believing in the Power of Love and Music. Still believing that Rock and Roll can be a Positive Life Force. Still believing that people can figure out what's a joke, what's a goof, what's deadly serious. No saints here, no angels... but no evil cheatin' lyin' two-faced creeps either. You're either adding to the Light or the Dark. This record label, a Little Engine That Could is launching itself into the ozone with two bands from Texas... We know that poor ol' Texas has almost become a dirty word... But, it ain't all George W DeLay... there are wonderful people making wonderful music in hardass towns like Dallas and Houston... and dotpointperiod records and tapes found 'em... Well, two of 'em anyways. Take a cruise around this website. You'll quickly pick up on the fact that we are serious about... FUN, daggnabbit! Serious about fun... you mean, like Military Intelligence? Nahhhhhh... We mean... There's a way to present a "product" without insulting the presentee's heart and head. There's a way to make and spend money that doesn't leave this Little Blue Sphere called Earth in worse shape than we found it. We mean... There's a way to Air Guitar with conviction. Thanks for stopping by... see you real soon... okay?
